AFEK was founded in May 2009 as a place for F-Visa holders in South Korea to meet and discuss the issues that relevant to our unique situation. There had never been a private place for F-Visa holders to congregate online until AFEK was formed. AFEK continues to provide a private community for F-Visa holders, and is one that continues to thrive due to the expertise of our core-membership base: the long-term expatriate resident of Korea.
The AFEK website prides itself on being a place where people can engage in frank and honest discussion about being an expat in Korea. You should only join AFEK if you are happy with the following conditions:
The above principles serve to make AFEK a place where most users treat each other with respect.

Once you have done all of the above, an Administrator will upgrade your account. The inbox is checked periodically throughout the day on most days, but on occasion it could take up to 24 hours for your account to be upgraded. Upgrades are silent (you are not notified) so you should try logging in every few hours after you have submitted proofs.
CHOOSE YOUR USERNAME CAREFULLY! IT CANNOT BE EASILY CHANGED AT A LATER DATE. DO NOT USE YOUR REAL NAME UNLESS YOU ARE HAPPY FOR OTHERS TO SEE IT!
Acceptable proof for F-2/4/5/6 Visa holders:
An ARC Card must be used. Please feel free to edit out your photo, your Registration number (please leave the DOB intact) and your name (leave the initials intact). Do not edit out any more information than in the example given above. YOUR CARD MUST CLEARLY SHOW F-VISA STATUS ON THE FRONT OR BACK!
PROOFS MUST BE IN JPG OR PNG FORMAT.
YOU CAN PROVIDE A 300DPI COLOUR SCAN OR HIGH QUALITY COLOUR DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPH.
YOUR DOB AND INITIALS WILL BE RETAINED AS A SECURITY MEASURE IN ORDER TO PREVENT PEOPLE FROM CREATING DUPLICATE ACCOUNTS.
